1. Tivoli Garden

This amusement park is located just a few minutes walk from the City Hall and the Copenhagen Central Station. It is one of the oldest amusement parks in Denmark and has something to offer for both young and older.

In Tivoli Garden, you will find all the rides and fun activities you could possibly be looking for. No matter the age of your children there will be numerous things for them to try and explore. However, this place is not just an amusement park, as there is so much more to see and do. Throughout the garden, you will find lots of green oases, flowers, and lakes to enjoy.

The garden also offers a wide range of dining opportunities. You can either bring your own picnic or visit one of the many restaurants inside Tivoli. Most of the restaurants offer a special kids menu so it should be easy to find something that everybody will enjoy.

Furthermore, it is worth mentioning the many seasonal theme decorations which will cover the garden throughout the year. During Summer, Winter, Christmas, and Halloween there will be unique and tailored theme decorations for all the visitors to experience.

2. The Guinness World Records Museum

Located right in the heart of Copenhagen you will find the Guinness World Records Museum. Here you will have the chance to show your kids breathtaking records in everything from art, music, sport, science, and nature.

They can even get to meet the world’s tallest man, who is 272 cm tall. The museum also has a new interactive room which is great fun for the kids. Here they will be presented for some of the incredible records on the new, big touch screens. 3. The National Museum of Denmark

This museum includes exhibitions all the way back from the Stone Age, the Viking Age, throughout the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, before ending with the Modern Danish History.

However, the museum is not only for adults. There is an entire section dedicated to the younger visitors; The Children’s Museum. Here the children can go on a trip on a Viking ship or try cooking in an old kitchen from the Middle Ages. Your kids also have the opportunity to experience a school, from the time when their grandparents were kids.

It is a fun and educational place for your kids to explore Danish history while they are playing. No doubt your kids will have fun and love this place full of surprises and adventures.

While you are visiting the museum you can also include guided tours, like the Family Tour. In July, August and September the guided tours will be offered in English as well as in Danish.

4. Den Blå Planet

This is the National Aquarium Denmark and is the largest aquarium in Northern Europe. Here you will find many fun and fascinating activities for both kids and adults.

When you enter the National Aquarium Denmark you will see that there is water on every single side of the building you are in. This is done in order to give the visitors a feeling of being under water. From the center of the aquarium, there are five arms (or pathways) which the visitors can follow and discover the many wonders of this place.

Den Blå Planet is divided into 8 sections and features 50 aquariums, seven million liters of water and thousands of animals. Within the 8 sections, you will get to discover sharks, rays, piranhas, octopuses, birds, sea otters, a rainforest and even a water playground for the youngest.

The Ocean Tank is the biggest of all of the aquariums that Den Blå Planet has to offer. In fact, the tank is filled with four million liters of seawater. Here you have the chance to experience hammerhead sharks in the company of moray eels and rays. An experience that you and your kids will never forget!

5. Nyhavn and The Canal Tours

Yet another way to discover Copenhagen with kids is to explore the city from the water side. From the harbor in the city center, you can make your departure. Canal Tours Copenhagen offers tours from Nyhavn where you get to see the city from a different perspective.

The tours are guided in both Danish and English throughout the season. The duration of the tour is approximately an hour.

6. Experimentarium

Experimentarium is a science center located in Hellerup, just 6 km from Copenhagen ́s city center. This is a place for everyone to explore and play while learning about science in a fun way.

Inside you will find 18 interactive exhibitions regarding technology and science. It is a place where you and your kids can get hands-on to explore the most fascinating things.

You have the chance to go on an underwater safari in a submarine or experience the Interactive Film Theater.

Experimentarium even has a section dedicated to the youngest once. This is called the Miniverset which is a place where toddlers and preschoolers can learn about science through play.

Your children will definitely not be bored if you go to this place. They can learn so much and get to challenge themselves and the rest of the family.
